Abstract

This study aims to examine and determine school-based sharia management strategies in improving the quality and quality of madrasahs with a case study at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri 2 Sukuharjo. The research methodology and data collection techniques in this study using qualitative methods. Sharia management, leaders and leadership are recognized as important tools in carrying out social change effectively. Thus it is necessary to make efforts to change the paradigm of leadership in Indonesian society, from a transactional leadership model that tends to be passive and materialist to a leadership model that is able to bring about social change effectively through individual empowerment. Islamic values are still needed as a component that builds the paradigm of Indonesian leadership in order to form an Islamic life order. The results of the study found that the concept of implementing School-based Sharia management (MBS) in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri 2 Sukoharjo is quite good. Some of the components contained in the SBM concept can be implemented well, such as democratic leadership of school principals, principals who are able to carry out roles as educators, managers, leaders, administrators, supervisors, innovators and motivators well. In addition, the active role of the community has also been seen. This can be seen with the assistance provided to MIN 2 Sukoharjo both material and non-material.
