Abstract

Parental involvement is widely recognized as a critical determinant of children’s academic success. This article conceptually examines the role of family and community in supporting children’s learning through the lens of Parental Involvement Theory. The manuscript serves as a scholarly foundation for a community service parenting seminar to be conducted in Bangkok, Thailand. Employing a conceptual review supported by empirical literature, the analysis highlights the strategic role of families as primary educational environments in shaping children’s motivation, discipline, and self-regulated learning. Furthermore, communities function as reinforcing agents of academic culture through social support and inter-parental collaboration. The article argues that synergy between family and community constitutes an essential foundation for constructing a sustainable and adaptive learning ecosystem.
